In 2017 Apple will return again to the glass iPhone

Authoritative analyst from KGI Securities Company Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his accurate predictions related to Apple’s products, said that in 2017, the company plans to completely renovate the range of iPhone smartphones.

This way the corporation wants to stand out among competitors, as now the design of iPhone 6 is almost completely assimilated with the market of smartphones. Almost all companies produce phones in aluminum casing with plastic lines on the back cover.

As stated in the report for investors, Cupertino will abandon the aluminum case in favor of a completely glass with a curved AMOLED display. Currently Apple uses OLED technology in Apple Watch, but on the iPhone is still used matrix based on liquid crystals. Apple has already experimented with a similar design in iPhone 4 and 4s models where the front and rear panel of the gadget have been made of glass, but the edges were metal. Although the glass is much heavier than aluminum, the extra weight will be offset by the implementation of AMOLED technology (such panels are thinner and more efficient), said Ming-Chi Kuo.

Currently, all of the iPhones manufactured in aluminum, but in 2017 their number will decrease to 40%, or even less, predicts analyst. As for the strength of the new glass smartphones, they will not yield to the aluminum models, as Apple already has experience in the production of such casing. According to media reports, last week, Apple and Samsung have signed a contract valued at $2.59 billion for the supply of OLED panels for the iPhone displays.

According to expert, the implementation of the new design of the iPhone models of 2017 will refresh the line and highlight Apple smartphones among competitors. Earlier Ming-Chi Kuo predicted drop in sales of gadgets in 2016. He also predicted that this year, Apple will deliver less than 200 million iPhones.

It is expected that this fall the company will traditionally present a new generation of iPhone. According to some reports, iPhone 7 design will be a little different from the appearance of the current models of the iPhone 6s and Plus. It is well known that the key innovation will be the dual camera, which will be exclusive to the 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 7 Plus.
