How to fix Safari crashes and freezes when opening links on iOS 9.3
After the release of iOS 9.3, some users immediately started to have problems. Owners of iPhone 6s/6s Plus and older models who updated to iOS 9.3 faced with the inability to pen links in Safari. When user tries to follow the link, Safari crashes or freezes.
Currently on the Apple tech support forum there are several hundred of such complains, which means that the problem became common. According to some reports, nothing happens after tapping on the link, but if you tap and hold, then the application closes abnormally. Attempts to close the browser from the multitasking bar doesn’t help.
How to solve Safari crashes and freezes on iOS 9.3
According to some users, they could solve the problem by disabling JavaScript. However, this method only works with Safari, but it won’t work for other applications. To disable JavaScript, you need to go to “Settings” and select Safari. After that open the “Advanced” menu and move the corresponding switch to “Off”. Next, you will need to close the browser from the multitasking bar.

If disabling JavaScript didn’t help, you can always download from the App Store an alternative browser such as Google Chrome, Dolphin or any other, until the company releases some fix.
Apple has not officially commented on the situation. The reasons for failure are also unclear. Since the problem affects devices with 3D Touch, we can assume that it is associated with this technology.
According to some experts, the error may be caused by third-party applications installed by users. The experiment with the iPhone 6 and iPad Pro showed that devices running iOS 9.3 had no problems in opening links in Safari, however after installing Booking.com application crashes and freezes appeared when they tried to open some links. The problem remained even after the removal of the application and reboot of devices.
Apparently, everything is really bad with the testing department of the new iOS firmware in Apple. Earlier, Apple has suspended the distribution of the update for the old iPhones and iPads due to the fact that iOS 9.3 just turned them into “bricks”.
