Apple is justified – the company is not to blame for the leak of personal photos of celebrities from the iCloud
The investigation of the sensational scandal around Apple and Google, associated with the leak of personal photos of celebrities, has come to the end. Previously, the companies were accused in bad protection of cloud services Gmail and iCloud, which led to leakage of personal photos of the stars. However, as noted by TechCrunch, brute force (mechanical password selection) was not used. In addition, Tim Cook stated that the leakage of Apple ID and password have not been found, which gives the full right to calm Apple users. Most likely a 36-year-old Ryan Collins used social engineering. The old proven method to use phishing emails to get passwords and IDs has worked this time. Victims received phishing emails from Apple and Google with the requirement to confirm the username and password, after which they were redirected to bogus websites.
The public version of iOS 9.3 beta 7 has been released
A week before presentation, Apple released the 7th beta version of iOS 9.3. Most likely, this is pre-release version, since the debut of a new firmware version is expected on March 21. Among the new features can also be found updated News application, the ability to add music to playlists bypassing library, connect multiple Apple Watch to one smartphone, PDF sync between iOS devices and much more.
Obama did not support Apple in the battle for data encryption
In the struggle with the FBI every vote is casting. Yet the public support is crucial if you are opposed to the state, and especially the United States. On the situation with the iPhone hacking also spoke the current president of United States Barack Obama. The head of the United States stated that he was against the “absolutist views” on encryption and believes that technology companies must agree on this issue, instead of taking the law at the federal level.
“Technologies are developing very fast and there are always new problems to be solved. We believe that there are very real and important reasons that the government was not able to get into any iPhone or smartphone if they want so, which contain personal user information. The question we have to ask – if there is absolutely inaccessible smartphone, how we can fight child pornography, terrorism or even to take such simple actions as control over the taxes? If the government cannot get inside, in fact everyone will have his personal Swiss bank cell in their pocket.”
New leak shows a possible design of the iPhone 7 rear case
The first information from suppliers, namely Catcher Technology, has appeared on the Internet. Information was once again provided by the insider Steve Hammerstoffer, also known on twitter as a OnLeaks. The image shows a possible design of the iPhone 7 rear case. On the photo we can see the heavily modified rear case without plastic inserts for the antenna, which cross the top and bottom panel of the iPhone 6 and 6s. The rear camera is now surrounded by a large black border and will not stick outside from the rear. The source also tells about much thinner body, which proves the absence of a 3.5 mm audio jack.
