MWC 16: OPPO – Charging the battery of the smartphone in 15 minutes
Most of the flagship smartphones on the market support quick charging function. It is convenient and there is nothing more to add. Technology evolves and being applied for several years already, during which Apple doesn’t integrate it in the iPhone. We hope that Cupertino was waiting for the breakthrough that occurred at MWC 2016. At the exhibition of technology OPPO company surprised everyone with Super VOOC technology that can charge the battery from 0% to 100% in 15 minutes!
At MWC 2016, OPPO demonstrated the development on a non-commercial smartphone. Currently, there is no device with Super VOOC, the company promises that they will appear later this year. During this time, OPPO will finalize the technology and make it compatible with the standard microUSB and USB Type-C connector, because the exhibition sample was charged via proprietary cable.
OPPO assured that such a quick charge doesn’t affect the status of the battery. It doesn’t overheat and its lifetime is not reduced.
OPPO technology charges the battery with capacity of 2500 mAh from 0% to 100% in 15 minutes. This battery capacity is rather weak for Android smartphones, but it is good enough for the iPhone. Reminding that the iPhone 6S Plus has a battery capacity of 2750 mAh and if the charging will take not 15 but even 20 minutes, it will be great progress. Because now to fully charge the Apple’s flagship it is required to wait a little more than 3 hours.
