MWC 16: Samsung presents Gear 360
Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona brought us a lot of novelties. Simultaneously with smartphones Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, the Samsung Electronics company announced the Samsung Gear 360 camera. Gear 360 is designed to capture panoramic photos and videos with a field of view of 360°.
According to the manufacturer, this camera is “specifically designed for traveling, holidays and other significant events” and is able to convey “the full scale visual experience.” In other words, the camera is a tool to create a virtual reality, which can be viewed using Gear VR headset.

The new camera from Samsung, Gear 360 will be compatible with the latest mobile phones from Samsung presented on MWC, as well as its predecessors Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and even the Note 5.
This may have been the reason that the new Samsung’s flagship doesn’t have any innovative camera. Given the connectivity that this equipment has, users can easily share the videos on YouTube or Facebook. This new gadget will be available in some countries from the second quarter of 2016.
Gear 360 was not, at all, the most expected element in the presentation of Samsung, however the brand expects to have a major impact.
