Freedom 251 – the cheapest smartphone in the world just for $4!

Indian developers presented the cheapest smartphone in the world. While you can buy a cup of coffee for $4 in Europe, a few thousand kilometers away you can get a real smartphone for the same money. Why ultra-budgetary Freedom 251 selling for this price, whether it is made from acorns and matches, and whether the manufacturer had heard of such a phenomenon as profits?

Until February 15 no one heard about Freedom 251. A smartphone Meizu, Xiaomi and other Chinese brands were considered as quite affordable and budget. But on Monday, boundaries of the budget smartphones have become much wider, because the company Ringing Bells announced the most affordable smartphone in the world at a price of $7.

The price surprised everyone. However, over the past two days the price decreased to $4! FOUR DOLLARS, CARL!

For such ridiculous amount of money, the buyer can get the Android device with the following characteristics.

Frankly weak hardware of Freedom 251 cannot be found in modern smartphones, same as you will not find a price tag of $4. However, the characteristics of the world’s cheapest smartphone considered quite acceptable yet few years ago.

Ironically, the cheapest smartphone in the world copying the design of one of the most expensive. Freedom 251 is a very similar to the iPhone and not only by the design, but also the Android icons looks like the iOS.

Freedom 251 is selling without contract and the hardware, maybe is very weak, but, obviously, is worth more than $4. No, Ringing Bells didn’t decide to sell equipment at a loss, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi financing the project of the smartphone, so the company doesn’t go bankrupt. Ringing Bells was founded in 2015 and the company has already released four models of smartphones, including phones with 4G module for $44.

India – one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world and the state project is aimed at popularization of them in the country. With this price tag, the smartphone will be able to afford every citizen, hopes Modi, and it will bring India to a new level of development and communication.
