Long range wireless battery charging will arrive in 2017 on Apple’s devices
According to reliable sources Apple is working with companies in the United States and Asia to bring wireless charging to a higher level.
The goal of Apple is to explore the technology that allows to charge batteries of iPhones and iPads at a considerable distance from the existing charging mats. The company is trying to overcome some technical limitations that are related to the loss of power with distance and at the moment there is still no clear solution. This “limitation” is normal with any type of wireless system. The greater the distance between the transmitter and receiver, the worse is the signal and communication between them.
Wireless charging is not exactly a novelty, several companies, including Samsung rival, have already launched some products on the market that are compatible with this type of technology. Over the past few years Apple has obtained several patents related to new methods of charging but so far none ever hit the market.
According to our sources, this technology could reach the market already next year 2017, although the question remains whether Apple can solve the “limitation” until then. However, if they manage to solve that issue, then we will have truly innovative technology.
