MSQRD – the application that allows you to change your appearance during video chat in real time

The time of simple templates with holes for person’s faces are in the past. Now, to impress your friends you need something more. For example, an animated mask that automatically adapts to the size of the face and moves as if it is alive.

All of this is available in MSQRD, an application that is able to change your appearance in real time and record video or take photos of the funny process. It will be very funny, especially if you try to get into character and it is quite easy.

MSQRD will instantly recognize the contours of your face and puts on its mask. Simply select one of the masks by swiping left and right, and when ready, press to record video or take a picture. You can choose the front or rear camera.

Currently the application includes 15 different masks. The frame can be changed, adjusting to its character and some masks has additional effects triggered by facial expressions, for example to goggle or turn the fountains of tears you will need to open your mouth.

Everything works very smoothly and doesn’t cause any lag even on the iPhone 5S. Masks are scaled to the size of the face and turn if you are turning in the frame. Photos will be saved in your pictures folder and you can easily share them, video, after saving can be directly sent to Facebook, Instagram and other social networks without leaving MSQRD app.

The app is completely free at the moment and the only minus, if I may say so, is a small amount of masks. I would really love to have more of diverse masks. However, the developers likely will not stop there and will expand the collection.

Download the MSQRD app from the App Store.
