Apple Company continues to actively patent new perspective ideas and technologies. Not so long ago, the Bureau of patents and trademarks issues to Apple a document which secures their rights of the mechanism that allows to control some functions in the car using the iPhone.

If the technology described in the new patent will be implemented in serial cars, the owners of apple smartphones will be able to use the iPhone as the ignition key for their cars. Communication between vehicle and mobile device will be using Bluetooth or some NFC technologies.

We want to remind that Apple have long been patenting technologies that not only expand the functionality of the iPhone, but also make life easier for car owners. Today, the company’s patent portfolio has a lot of documents describing the management of various functions used in the car.

For example, Apple’s engineers offer iPhone users to remotely start the car engine, open doors and windows, adjust seat and mirrors position, etc. Additionally, Apple also patented car search technology that allows locating the car in large parking lots. But as always, most of these technologies remain unfulfilled.
