iOS 9 was installed on 70% of all compatible devices
One of the key benefits of iOS over Android is much greater prevalence of new firmware versions. Apple believes that providing the latest updates to its customers is direct responsibility of the company.
According to official data, as of December 1, 2015 iOS 9 have been already installed on more than 70% of all compatible devices. Probably many have not yet forgotten how problematic the release of iOS 9 was. Various bugs, flaws and glitches were reported by users who upgraded to the latest firmware. Some users preferred to rollback to a previous version and some decided to wait for fixes. Anyhow, at the end of October iOS 9 was installed on half of the devices and in November reached 66%.
And finally, Apple decided to submit a new report, which is truly amazing given the extremely low degree of users’ satisfaction. iOS 8 percentage decreased to 22% and earlier versions of the firmware – to 8%. However, there are still those who use iOS 6 on their devices.
As for the future updates of the current version of the OS, the fourth beta of iOS 9.2 was released on November 19 and several critical errors were fixed as well as overall system performance on all devices was significantly improved. However, we hope that the release version of iOS 9.2 will be polished and bugs free.
